Can Sex Therapy Fix Erectile Dysfunction Quickly
The long and the short of it is – yes. Depending on the type of ED you may have, sex therapy is a great course of action to address and quickly resolve it.
Most cases of erectile dysfunction today are classified as nonorganic, or not caused by an underlying medical condition or adverse reaction to a prescription medication. In these cases, sex therapy is a perfectly viable option to address and resolve ED and typically, it can be resolved far more swiftly than you may think. In my office, I have helped many gents get back in action in as little as four sessions. Piece of cake!
How Sex Therapy Can Quickly Resolve ED
For gents who are dealing with nonorganic ED, the best course is to first seek outside help of a certified and experienced sex therapist. This is a talking therapist, not a sexual professional in any other form or concept. It works very much in the same vein as a psychotherapist, but the conversation is focused primarily on your sexual well-being in regard to your individual needs or relationship needs. Sex therapists help people build self-confidence, overcome trauma, manage relationship issues like infidelity and so much more.
A sex therapist will work with you to determine the cause of your ED. Nonorganic erectile dysfunction is rather common and afflicts men of all ages – from young men in their 20s all the way up to men in their 70s and older. The reasons can be just as varied: lack of self-confidence, an over-reliance on porn for stimulation, recent trauma, exhaustion, fear of reoccurrence after a few ED episodes, bringing home a baby recently, you-name-it.
Speaking with a sex therapist will allow you to identify a clear path to address the cause and start to find a way to move through the blockage that is keeping you from enjoying sex or pleasure on your terms. After having an initial consult, your sex therapist should be able to create a plan of action that can even estimate how many sessions you can expect to do in total – because no – this isn’t an “indefinite” therapy.
There is an end game. You show up and you glow up. All puns so intended.
